He changed his name to Deva Pramada because of his religious convictions.

I liked the group .... but he was only with them for a short time.

Maybe a 'Straw' poll as to who knew him?

The driver of the tractor has been 'Baled'

The last straw. RIP. Out of the blue = great album.

Hope the farmers are brought to book. Too much under regulated transport on the roads.

Leslie 06 September 2010 02:30 PM

We were in the traffic on that road which was jammed up after the accident. Took an hour to get around the problem so it was pretty severe.

It is a real tragedy, no way can anyone make allowances for such a thing to happen. Don't think there is any definite evidence how the bale of hay rolled down the hill, the fields are pretty steep at that point.

It was nothing to do with unregulated transport on the road. The round bale rolled down the hill in the field and crashed onto the road through the hedge and then into his van. No way anyone could have avoided it. Those bales are very big and heavy, it must have crushed the van.

A great loss.

Thinks....................'must add that to my book '101 ways to kill someone without getting caught'..................

Thinks.........'why I had a 94stone bale of hay at the top of the stairs in a 3 storey block of flats may require more work'...................

Giant bale of hay tumbled down a hill and crashed onto his van.

Fook socks was he doing the crossword at the time ?

I will bet it was those bloody Wurzels getting them back for beating "Combine Harvester" to number 1 in 1980...

The road is fairly narrow and because of the hedges you can't see into the fields. The first he would have known of the hay bale was milliseconds before it hit him.

If you saw the video on the news of the road you would understand that. Devon roads are generally narrow with bank hedges either side.
