Pigeons are stupid
Wander into the kitchen this morning to find this amazing greasy (distinctly bird-shaped) patch on one of the kitchen windows.
A closer look shows it really IS bird shaped and there are a few small fluffy feathers stuck to the glass.... So I wander outside to clean the glass and there's this bloody dead pigeon lying on the ground directly below the window  I mean how stupid? The dumb arse flew into the glass so hard it clean broke its own neck. Oh, and glancing across the garden has revealed another patch of feathers where one of the local cats got another pigeon too slow to fly away in time. Pigeon Armageddon out there today. |
A couple of weeks ago I heard a loud bang, so I went to the back door, and there was one of our resident blackbirds sitting outside, stunned! He'd flown into our back window, but he still had the sultana in his beak! :lol1:
I talked to him for a bit, then when he'd gathered his senses, he flew off........with sultana! :thumb: |
Someone I know lures pigeons into his living room with food through open patio doors. Then he tries it again later with the patio doors closed - I think it's about 50/50 at the moment for those that crash into window against those who have it sussed.

This time of year they all eat too much barley from the fields which ferments in thier guts and they end up pi55ed  very funny they fly about crashing into stuff:lol1:

Yeah they are stoopid. I hear them occasionly fly into the office widows. I did see one a few months back fly right into the side of a white van on the A45 it bounced back in a cloud of feathers.
They tend to keep away from our garden though as our tom cat likes to give them us half eaten as presents and I don't think they necessarily like chickens either. |

Not for the very fainthearted.

Any damage?
10 years back during summer term on the school coach we had the sunroofs up at both ends. Stupid pigeon flew into it. Bofff, blood and feathers splattered all over the year 9s. Couldnt sit up for laughing. |
I hit a wood pigeon recently .. 85mph on a private road and its guts near covered my car ..
Must have been the stealth decat that stopped it from noticing me coming .. |
