prodrive ecu????
 

have a 53plate wrx with complete sti engine fitted,not runnin the avcs at the moment due 2 cashflow.have been offered a sti prodrive ecu with patch wiring for the avcs.can any1 tell me how much power the prodrive sti has,or better 2 get a standard/mapped ecu.thanks alot guys.:notworthy:notworthy

sti prodrive was supposed to be around 300bhp

remapping your existing ecu with mods will always get better power than a standard map

ie remap a prodrive sti and you should see anywhere between 320 - 340bhp

you will need an sti ecu and wiring changes to get the most from the engine, if the price is right gotto be worth it, but you will also need the prodrive downpipe, centre decat and rear box for it to run the engine right, you could always go for a slight improvement with a remap later,

and recode your keys

so is a prodrive ecu just standard ecu but remapped,would make more sense 2 get a standard ecu then get it mapped 2 suit.

Yes it is, as it will have a generic PPP map, faily crap, remap all the way:thumb:, as TingTongPJ says, dont forget the keys will need sorting.

Not sure what you mean by "patch wiring" for the AVCS.....usual route is to either strip out the WRX loom and fit the STi loom with AVCS or play it clever and use the WRX TGV wiring to fire up the AVCS..

I'm dropping in a 2.5 STi into my bugeye and am giving the AVCS heads a bodyswerve !
