Client wants me to work in Cheltenham for a couple of months. It's too far to drive every day so what's the score with Internet access in hotels these days?

We sell in building DSL solutions as part of our portfolio and although there is interest from the Hotels, very very few are actually putting their money were their mouth is. (not just the case with ourselves nobody is doing well !)
I tink you would be lucky to find one that is B'band enabled, dial up should not be a problem if you dont mind paying 15p per min or something silly !!! Good luck, Phill |
I stay in load of hotels all over the country, 20 or so a year. never got a hook-up more than 38K
Fecking expensive as well |
Hello
It's something that hotels should start thinking about. I travel continually (unfortunately) around the world and England is probably one of the worst for internet access. One of the reasons being that they charge upwards of 10p a minute for local call access. I always make a point of getting the person booking hotels to ask what the internet access at local call rate will be. I hope that if enough hotels hear this then they will finally do something about it. Steve. |
As a slight side thing, my other "campaign" at the moment is to get Estate Agents to understand what "ADSL enabled area" means...
Steve. |
Estate Agent - It's against the Date Protection Act and anyway, why do you want the post code Sir?
Me - Cos I want to find out if I can get ADSL Estate Agent - Don't worry about that the house has x y & z  |
Shame you weren't coming to Edinburgh. I can name a least three hotels who have broadband access and one that has a 2Mbit pipe shared between 50 bedrooms!!

Wow Willy. Would they do a good deal on a 5 year booking?
