Bits involved in starting an engine

My 1997 uk turbo has been having problems starting first thing in the morning

when cold, sometimes it will struggle, but start, other times is will feel as if it

needs a few revs, then dies, however trying it again straight away, it starts.

I've had the cold start checked and it seems fine, I have an airbox with a K

and N filter.

Things I can rule out:
MAF
Spark plugs
Coolant temperature sensor
Fuel pump
Injectors
Battery

So what else is there that is involved in the start up?

Thanks

annoying isn't it, especially with the winter coming up,

that's why I was wondering exactly what is involved so I can go through the

list, if it was lose plugs, wouldn't it do it all the time??

It's okay, I'm planning for the future... !

But would like to fix this

yeah it must be doing your nut in by now and if it was a losse plug it would missfire every now and a again good luck with finding it and have you spoken to your mapper and subaru tuning garages

Cam and crank sensors are worth looking at.

Can you get a diagnostic on an apexi ecu?

How can you test them to see if they are okay?
