How to clean Matte finish??

i am about to book my car in to get vinyl wrapped, in a matte finish.

I was all for it, until someone told me matte finishes are really hard to keep clean, especially as i am looking at a light colour.

Also, i am not really one for spending hours cleaning my cars, usually water and a bit of shampoo are as far as i go.

So what is the process of keeping a matte finish looking good?

The results here will probably decide if i go matte or gloss!

Thanks

Simple - wash and dry it and leave it at that! 99% of products will either turn white or start to turn it Glossy.

Swissvax do their opaque range which includes a wax that is designed for matt finishes, this is more than likely what we'll be using on my dads RS500 when it arrives in a few weeks :)

so when you say wash and dry, we talking just with water, or to use a shampoo too??

What would the proceedure be if there is ground in dirt etc?

Any links to the Swissvax stuff you speak of?

Oh, and thanks for the reply, very helpful! :)

A shampoo without gloss enhancers (or wax) will work fine.

For matt cars I have the swissvax kit, but have noticed that permanon also do a matt product, meant to last 6 months.

Autobrite are doing a shampoo for matt products as well.

a mate does wraps on the likes of taxis and sky vans. asked him and they tell customers to wash with a waxless shampoo and to use glass cleaner for any stubborn marks

I had mine painted matte black, i was worried about cleaning it to but it is so easy. I just wash it as normal:
. Hose it down
. wash with normal soapy water
. rinse off with hose
. use a soft towel dab the excess water then wipe. Now makes and looks awesome. I even use that tango juice and the brings it up really nice.

Clark (posted above) did a Focus RS detail I think recently and it was matte black. One of those Focus RS500s. Plenty of resources online to show you how to do it. If you need Swissvax gear I can point you in the right direction. Drop me a PM.
