Bugeye Spoiler 'Adjustment'

Right the story goes like this.......I like a bargain as much as the next guy, so when I saw these CF spoiler risers for offers, I jumped in quite low, £40 inc delivery.Well, my offer was accepted. Fast forward to this afternoon, they arrive and I set to work trying to fit them.

First thing first, remove the old spoiler, not an issue even for a bodger like me.

As I fitted the risers to the underside of the spoiler I became aware of the fact that there was no hole for the spoiler brake light wire to be fed through (first thing to be sorted in the next few days). I fitted them with not much hassle.

Fitting the whole ish to the boot was another thing altogether. Three holes matched up and I had no issues bolting them down (although I need some kind of rubber seals to seal the risers to the car, any recommendations?). The fourth hole was miles off, so I started to make a pilot hole to screw into. I now understand how uncompromising carbon fibre can be, and the upshot is that I have the spoiler connected by 3 bolts until I can get to a drill in work tomorrow.

The pics are below, sorry they are taken on an iphone when the sun was going down. I know these things divide opinion, but I am going to give them a few weeks to see how they grow on me; first impressions not too bad!

Think i'd need to see the whole car from the side to make a verdict. From what you've shown I think they look ok though.

Its no STI spoiler, but for £40 it looks ok, I think! Cheers guys!!

Bargain, does improve the looks but doesn't mimic the STI:thumb:

These have been around for ages and I have never been able to tally these up in my head ! they look wrong buy I am not quite sure why as they don't look bad.:freak3:

These are a definite if you like them :thumb: looks better than an STi spoiler on a WRX:)

I think Cuscokids daughter had them on her hawkeye.:)

It doesnt have an 'Impreza' style to it, I think that is why it doesnt always look right.

B4D HK 01 September 2010 09:46 PM

sorry mate, i dont like it :)

Myles 01 September 2010 09:55 PM

No worries bud, as I said, it doesnt have the accepted Impreza look and will divide opinion.

The spoiler risers are well gone, I have an STI rep spoiler now, but the skirts STILL need painting!

They are at the back of a long queue. Fog covers with an air intake, a C West grill. Not a long list, unless you are lazy which I am!
