Heat shield
Right people I've just had the de cat down pipe put on but they've had remove the heat shield by cutting it, so now I'm with out one will this cause me any problems
|
I believe it could cause problems - there is the brake and clutch master cylinders nearby and they will get too hot not to mention loads of rubber parts and wiring nearby!!
Having said that a friend of mins has an early classic that has run without a heatshiled fot years and never had any problems associated with no heat shield. Personally I would try and fit one or get a turbo blanket instead!! |
You could use some adhesive heatshield from demon tweeks to cover any other by components your worried about.
My last car (non scoob) i fitted a 4 branch mani too it and had to ditch the heatshield and used the adhesive stuff to cover various sections on the bulkhead and it worked fine |

Contact Harvey on here and get some heat wrap he sells the best stuff.

Remember the more heat you can keep in the exhaust system either side of the turbo, the quicker it'll spool up, so wrapping definitely has its advantages.

Get a turbo blanket from CDF Racing, job done.:)
|
Cheers guys I may get some of the wrapping and a turbo blanket!
