The 18in wheels on my UK300 look like 15s due to the large gap between wheel and wheelarch. Can anyone recommend a solution other than just slamming the car which I don't want to do because it just looks like yet another M*x P***r shed.

Also noticed that the UK300 has lots more understeer than my earlier MY98 model. Is it possible to cure both at once.

I need the car to be driveable every day and don't want to be bouncing off the bump stops.

OK,

Firstly, it should have less understeer than your 98 if that was standard. Secondly, the two main options (without going the whole hog fully adjustable route) are Eibach "Grey" springs or Prodrive Eibach "Blue" springs.

There has been much discussion as to which of these is better and from all the opinions I have heard, the simplistic version seems to be that the Prodrive ones are more compliant/softer and the Grey Eibachs are harder and better for fast road/track.

I've driven the Blues but not the greys on the new shape and they are very good, but both are a safe and good option which will only lower the car a bit (no M*x P*w*r here thank you very much ;) ) but will improve the look a little and the handling quite a bit.

I would also recommend at the same time you get your Gemoetry setup properly as Subaru dealers don't bother to do this before the car gets sold coupled with the fact that the factory tollerances are enormous. I would recommend Powerstation to fit the springs (whichever you choose) and do the Geometry - the car will feel loads better when you've had this done!!!! :D:D:D

I have the prodrive springs on my MY01 with the same wheels as the UK300, 18inch P1 Gold, and it looks the mutts nuts if i do say so myself. As matt says i would strongly recommend getting the geometery done at the same time. TSL do an excellent job, no understeer just very sharp turn in and no tramlining.
You would be surprised just how spot on they can get it.

I too have the prodrive springs on my UK300 as well as the geometry set up by TSL.

There is very little/no understeer and the turn in is a lot better.

Looks wise, the front seems to have lowered more than the rears, although they are both meant to drop by 20/25mm.

Or you could try the Leda B as supplied by ScoobySport (01268 590085) i have this as have many others and am 100% happy with the results :D

Have LEDA, though mine was dropped 50/45 front & rear.......though after a track outing will raise rear by 5mm

I have/had UK300 (selling)and went with Prodrive springs and geometry from Powerstation. Found that it still had a bit of understeer, driving styles tyres etc may cause some of it. I then had anti-roll bar and drop links fitted to back which helped to balance car out and put an end to understeer for me.
