wouldnt be self adjusting as it is hydraulic so sounds like something is catching some where mate.

leecalcars 14 August 2010 09:14 PM

where would it likely to be catching ?

is there any resistance or can you feel it through the pedal when it happens mate?

just a slight notch / click nothing major but present hard to describe really.

could be the start of the release bearing breaking mate as there a pull type clutch, could be the pressure plate forks clicking/creeking hard to say without hearing mate.

big job then ....!

This was not uncommon on classics. My 99my did it. I'm desperately trying to remember the exact details but recall it was to do with the pin that goes through the pedal arm and pushes the master cylinder push rod, having too much side float. I put a thin nylon washer plus grease, in place to minimise the sideways float. It worked.

While you're there, push the clutch pedal down by hand to see if you can get it to click.
It must be all of 8+ years ago, but there was at least one thread on here about it.
