Fiiinally bought one...
Hi Guys,
Well after my many bellaching posts in here. Ive finally bought one of my car idols. The e46 m3. :) I was worred as they get very mixed reviews on here and i have no idea why. the car is amazing. Its as fast as my scoob, faster above 60, looks better has NO rattles, comfortable and very fun to drive & good stereo, right out of the box. lovin it! Will get some pics up when i get time to give it a good seeing too :) Thanks for all the advice!. Time to start saving for a f360 i think :) chris |

Undeniably great cars - Loved mine and will get another one day. I personally just found it too heavy and big for my needs right now and I was always a bit paranoid about repair billls on it.
Its a car you need to live with for a few weeks before you can really decide whether you really like it or not. What colour you go for ? pics ? |
Cool! Another Scooby owner takes the BMW route...!

Yep, M3 (maybe a CSL) is on the list of possibilities when the builders have finished putting the rear wall back on my garage :)
The Passat will still be doing the daily commute, taking stuff down the tip, carrying my muddy mountain bike around, etc. for years to come with any luck and hopefully costing me sod all to run (touch wood!). |
That's exactly what the 335d Touring does - plus add regular surf trips, carrying a 2 year old and a labrador. Except it does it almost as quickly as an M3...
A journo's words on the Touring: In-gear urge is almost peerless; I can't remember another car that accelerates as cleanly and quickly from low revs, and with such long gearing, in recent times. I include the Audi RS4 and the outgoing M3 (E46) in that statement; you have to pedal those cars hard to sustain the kind of pace the 335d does at ease. |
Good luck with it mate,if you like it it doesn't matter about the mixed reviews they get..........personnally i didn't rate my convertable version at all and only kept it 6 weeks before i changed it for a Leon Cupra R for the wife and an Ariel Atom for me (i do love the wind in my rapidly receding hair!:D).

Ariel Atom - COOL!
|
lol yeah its awesome.
i have a plan to combat the heavy m3. Going to buy a bike engined caterham in a month or so for the track. Car gets better every day :) Its 54 plate 40k on the clock. Carbon black, not a mark or dent on it. Immaculate Red leather inside, heated seats, h&k etc etc. full electrics inc rear blind (useless but fun lol). Ive only had a couple of blasts so far in it and non on any decent roads. For sure the scoob will be better than that but its horses for courses. Getting the car booked in for a good seeing too by a proper detailing company so the paint is mirror finished. then ill post some pics :) |

Scoobyc - 40k miles -that's very low. Sounds like a great spec too! Pics!
Nearest I've driven to a track day tool is an Elise 111R. Must try harder... Toomany - shame. So do you still have toomanycars? |
