Great news (well I think so :D ) just had a conversation with Trevor, and he said he would include the standing Km top speed run.

So a mini TOTB :luxhello:

The handling track is good fun mate, do not worry if you have not done it before, there will be more cars under 400bhp than big power cars. And if you fancy the drag and top speed then have a go, how hard can it be to drive in a straight line ? ;) Well that's what my mates say about my drag racing antics :D

Licence and helmet will be all you will need, there will be signing on there at the start of the day.

eggy790 19 August 2010 09:00 PM

dont worry mate, its for everyone, just come out and enjoy yourself!

ive only ever done drags before, never handling circuit or top speed, but should be fun.

bring both parts of ur license and a helmet if you got one, might be limited supply there if you dont have one yourself.

eggy i might be in similar position lol, how do they scrutineer i.e. wot engine speed and how far away from the car do they take the reading, and if you have to use bung for testing - will it kept in or removed after testing, also any ideas on how to get a reliable reading before i turn up on the day, pay my money, then get told i cant race!

gussy 26 August 2010 11:30 PM

engine revs about 4 to 4 1/2 grand, noise meter at 45 degrees from the exhaust at waist height approx a metre away. If you need a bung to get the noise level down it has to stay in if you take it out (they do random tests during the event ) they can pull you off track and either ban you for the rest of the event or get you to put it back in as for testing before you enter god knows my mate has one which we tried and it was spot on try any music shop or you might be lucky that an MOT station might have one.

no1nutter 27 August 2010 12:16 AM

thanks for that gussy

eggy790 27 August 2010 11:33 AM

will they be any helmets available to borrow? or do you have to bring your own?

gussy 28 August 2010 12:40 AM

Best bring your own at least you know it will fit.

eggy790 28 August 2010 12:42 AM

lol i dont have one, ill have to buy one.. no worries

Just as a note, the first time i have EVER had my crash helmet checked for correct type approval at Elvington was last Sunday, so make sure you have a helmet that is current.
