Dole scum take note...

Cameron is on your case, better not have any dodgy credit history :D

Once again a sensible decision from our new government, glad I voted Tory :)

Wait for the whining to begin. Invasion of privacy, human right, blah blah blah.

Gets my support though. Well done!

kingofturds 10 August 2010 05:30 PM

They should also give out a "bounty" for grassing up benefit cheats to normal people, they would be grassing each other left right and centre for a few extra quid.

Westwood2006 10 August 2010 05:59 PM

I like the way this is shaping up.

I always thought they did payout, or at one point anyway.

Just how do you grass someone up?

Every Government in History has tried this ... and failed!

I hope this works and I congratulate the statements coming out of Cameron, I hope he can deliver!

The single way to stop fraud and overpayments is to simplify the system ... £50 a week in shop vouchers (TESCO?) for the dole, that's if you work in the community (£0 a week if you do not!).

First child £25 a week - £0 for any child after that.

Housing paid direct to the Landlord, and you make do with what is offered.

Nothing to immigrants - end of.

Never thought I'd say this........but Mr Lewis your right and I support fully what you wrote. :thumb:

On the flip side of it if they make these changes then surely they need to re-think the prices of "cost of living" . i.e my Tesco bill has gone up and I buy pretty much the same things etc.
However they do a 2 for 1 offer now on Dougnuts. ;)

While I commend his intentions let's save the buttkissing of Cameron until he actually does something about this. Talk is and always was cheap.

I agree something needs to be done to put an end to freeloaders, but what exactly and whatever is done.... would it ever really work?

Problem with vouchers is what if people sell them and spend the money as they wish? Tbf, under Pete's system it's not really possible unless people are willing to starve. Also, not everyone claiming is wasting their 'hard earned' on drink and cigs, and assuming they are getting everything else paid for, life still wouldn't be too bad and they may still be quite tempted to not bother working.

I do agree with the idea of making people who are career scroungers work for their money/vouchers or whatever. And actually the child thing. We shouldn't be in a position where popping out kids is simply a money maker, an excuse to not work and worse still (most likely) breeding more of the same. To me, the problem has been allowed to get worse and worse over time and without a serious shake up, will only continue.

I fully support a benefits system as a short term measure for those who really need it. What I always fear is whatever steps are taken, if they actually are, still don't really hit the wasters who know how to play the system, and those in genuine need continue to be the ones who suffer in one way or another.

stedee 11 August 2010 12:02 AM

at least he`s trying and seems to be more in touch with what mr normal who goes to work wants. everybody was screaming it down labours necks did they do anything.

Spot on Pete except for one thing, you could get away with less food vouchers if you made them Lidl or Aldi:D

Those are pretty good ideas, Pete.
My hairdresser was at the garage the other day, when a gent of foreign persuasion pulled in with his BMW, got £30 worth of petrol, 40 cigs and paid with a voucher. Lets hope that wasn't his food quota :thumb:

Can't see any way to complain about all that. Perfectly reasonable and similar to how it used to be in earlier times.

It would be a mistake to go overboard and deny help to those who really need it though.

I'm vehemently anti-state interference, but what where Liberty on about claiming it was an invasion of privacy? If someone receives benefit from tax payers they should be grateful for it and spend it wisely. Don't go whinging that we shouldn't be allowed to check what you're spending our money on! If you want the privilege of privacy, earn it.

Sometimes the Civil Liberties lot are brilliant, othertimes they're :cuckoo:

Are these extra powers? i thought under Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA) in the prevention of a crime or fraud, the establishment could stick a microscope up your ass?

I guess its a start - but I can't wait to see the Daily Mail article about how one of these "bounty hunter" compaines ruins a persons life and how utterly awful the world is if your not middle class.

The bigger problem is that it doesn't tackle the workshy who see benefits as a right not a privilege or the baby factories fresh out of school and looking for handouts in return for causing over population.

Is it still going to stop those that don't work but can inexplicably still obtain credit and run up huge bills only to declare bankruptcy - what can you take from someone who has nothing?

And then there are those with tenuous illnesses that the overworked GPs sign off on full pay and cookies? Lets do the decent thing and make the process harder rather than declare how well we are doing by fast tracking those that "need" social benefits ASAP.

We must also look forward to the media telling us on the one hand that our cash strapped nation can't afford this social burden yet we must maintain a certain standard of living for all. What do we do when that standard of living means you can exist actually quite comfortably sat in front of your plasma TV watching your messiah Mr J Kyle whilst smoking fags, drinking cider and eating a kebab.

To say nothing of the future requirements of the NHS to cater for all the illnesses and disease brought on by the lavish lifestyle detailed above.

Have I left anything out?

neil1980 11 August 2010 07:07 PM

A lot of people now a day's are made redundant there for no option but to go on the dole due to needing there mortgages paid for.
If there were enough job's to cover the 3 million people that is unemployed it wouldn't be a problem but there isn't 1 job the ratio is 200 people appling for the position.
Great britain its fooked.

These 3 million could be put to work on extending the motorway network and help modernise our infastructre. We are paying for their dole money and housing benefits anyway so lets put them to work as public sector workers.
