There are 7 ports you can sail to, which one do you want?
Also are you excluding eurotunnel? |
Opps... prefer to go from Dover..and via a ferry and my little one can enjoy him self on route...I always loved it when i was little. ;-)

good luck with getting it cheap, you've left it late and its August
Anyways... There are a number of ferry comparison sites (google them) which will do the hard work searching for you, then my advice is go via quidco and book with the ferry company direct using the information from the comparison sites. I once booked through a comparison site and when I arrived at the Sea France terminal I was told they had gone bust, no money was paid to Seafrance and I had to pay the fare again! I Believe LDLines will be your cheapest option (goes into Boulogne) and could be as low as £50.50 return if you dont mind early start, early sail back. Go to their website and check the time options. Ive used LDLines several times, decent little company and always a great price. (although not on quidco!) http://www.ldlines.co.uk |
Friend of mine uses the fast ferry to Cherbourg which he says is good. Can't remember the port he leaves from though. Depends which part of France you want to start from of course.

going to Calais
When would it be a cheaper time to go..i would think after the holidays (when is that?) but would like to go during daylight. |
We have done Dover -Calais twice this year and both cost no more than £55 return ,although we did go late at night 11pm ish .

Are you after a day trip or week or two holiday.
There are loads of bargains via google. We have used aferry.co.uk a few times and they always come up with some good prices :) http://www.aferry.co.uk/?gclid=CKLV8...FRgulAodNC9R4A |
