Pollen filter
 

Hi all,

I'm doing a little service on my Blob next weekend.

I was wondering if I need to change the pollen filter?

I believe it is located behind the glove box?

Last service was 6k ago, and I want to keep things fresh.

I'm also changing the oil and oil filter.

Is there anything else I should be looking at?

air filter,fuel filter, both easy jobs and spark plugs a little harder but noot to bad.

There's quite a good guide on removal of the cabin filter behind the glovebox, on iwsti.
Is it part of the service schedule in the UK ?

Any ideas how much they are ?

hiya..the pollen filter isnt covered in the service book...it an extra or you do yourself.yer it behind the glove box.think you take that out and also some other gubbins too get too it

If you've not changed it before then deffinately do it. I changed mine recently and the old one was filthy, my blowers are so much better now too.

As above. You won't believe the amount of crud they accumulate, your cabin will smell much fresher. Bob

Genuine ones are about £30.

It was proper manky, RCM kept if for me to laugh at!
I had never asked for it to be done before always forgetting by the time i went, so that time i wrote it on my list. I was surprised how much filth was on it and in it.
Not cheap mine wasnt, but genuine.

7 screws behind the glovebox, at least 4 of them are visible with the glovebox open, remove the glovebox, then you have to unclip the heater motor wire connector, then pull out the old pollen filter, its a small white square thing around 8"x6" in size, usually white in colour.

Here's the one I got on Ebay, from Japarts for £12.

You may at the same time want to get a can of air conditioning cleaner for around £10, which you detonate inside the car with the air con switched on full and that cleans all the bacteria from the whole air con system.

most pollen filter have a guide for changing on the inside of the box it comes in;)
