starter motor problems
 

Hi everyone, this is my first thread and asking for advice on a long running starting problem. When starting my 2002 STI type uk i was only getting a click noise (2 month ago) had the starter motor checked and new solonoid fitted. This fixed problem for 3 to 4 weeks and it happened again, a new solonoid fitted and i'm back where i started 3 to 4 weeks later again. I don't know if i've been unlucky or there is another problem. I think it may be worth mentioning the solonoids we not identical to the origional but at the end of the day it is just an electrical switch ? any ideas thanks or else it seems i'll have to buy a full reconditioned one :wonder:

put a cheap 2nd hand working starter on it and go from there?

thanks for your reply 99greenwagon will try nd source one it makes sense to start with cheap option first.

i have a working starter off a classic,dont know if they are the same tho?
