Focus brake light problem (stays on)

Hi

Don't know if anyone can help, but it's worth a go:

the car is a 2002 Focus (1.6 Zetec) and the problem relates to the brake lights. When the tail lights are on the brake light is illuminated (both the filaments in each bulb are illuminated).

When the tail lights are off and I apply the brakes both brake and tail illuminates.

Also the centre brake light is illuminated when the tail lights are on.

Any help is gratefully received.
Nick

What happens when you brake and indicate at the same time?

No change - brake and tail both come on, but indicates normally.

I have also found that when I brake the dash lights come on.

Ok, cheers - I'll have a check and see what I find - hopefully it'll be obvious.
