Already replaced one a while back, whats the best step next???? Replace again or go down the coilover route. Needs to be cheap though:thumb:

i wish it was more expensive mate lol,on the serious side though id be thinking more along the lines of bilstiens for your motor as there built to last unlike alot of theses coil overs mate

davedipster 24 July 2010 09:36 PM

Eat less pies ?

carlosWRX 29 July 2010 12:25 PM

my rear shockers have gone too. getting BC coilovers. Will provide feedback in two weeks :)

carlosWRX 13 August 2010 12:42 PM

BC coilovers have solved my knocking rear shocker problem. But that was just my excuse to get them. They are awesome.

Scoobyworld 13 August 2010 01:19 PM

Certainly BCs would be considered by most as the best way forward, but in case you're interested we've just started stocking replacement KYB shocks for the WRX and STI models, sold in pairs at £259.99 inc VAt and del

Hi Neil
For what year???
Only pairs, not singles???

The rookie 18 August 2010 08:30 AM

Stripping the rear struts and regreasing (using a decent grease, not the margerine FHI used) can fix the problem very cheaply, I regreased mine over 18months ago and they are still fine.

Hi mate just go on Camskill website and look under KYB and here is it for £400
full set(Front and Rear shocks) http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.p...0b0s2730p30405

DJ_Jon 18 August 2010 12:37 PM

One of mine went recently, I tried to get a KYB pattern version, no dice. It seems the main dealer is the way to go if you have a Hawkeye STi (I'm happy to be corrected on this as a single shocker is £360 from a dealer)

The rookie 18 August 2010 04:01 PM

Yes you can only get them from a main stealer, and yes they will still only last a year or so before knocking.....

Can you still drive on knocking shocks? I feel no difference in performance other than the irritating noise.

davedipster 17 September 2010 08:17 PM

They normally, well in my case and many others knock then start to bind-up, making the rear suspension feel overly hard. Sometimes they get stuck extended and settle with a clunk.
Not good I would either re-grease or ditch.
Try and push the rear of the car down by pushing on the boot floor, I bet it's as solid as a rock.

I took it to HDC Subaru this afternoon for them to look at it. Howard spent 10-15 minutes under the car and all was well. Didnt charge me a penny. Best news was that it wasnt the shocks after all.

stuart69 27 September 2010 07:49 PM

are you hiding somthing here,if it wasnt the shocks, what was it?

dont tell us it was the spare wheel moving????

lol

SRSport 27 September 2010 08:03 PM

Lol, no it was one of the brake caliper bolts working loose. He said it was just one of those very unlikely things to happen that happened.

stuart69 27 September 2010 08:58 PM

Let you off this time:D
