apple are moving to AMD chips, certainly in iMacs
They won't be slower than the Intel i7s will they?
|
I wouldn't be against it, I read that Intel were pissed off about the A4.
|
actually, i think the imminent refresh of iMac will just be to use i3/5/7

And the 920 is like over 2 years old and has been replaced by the later 8xx chips ;) plus its 6 cores v 4 cores, that makes it 50% slower to start with :lol1:
Tony:D Just compare motheboard for amd and i7 lga 1366,which is cheaper? |
Well the 8xx use the P55/Q57 chipset now, priced from about 75 quid, but I would go for the Intel over the AMD anyday, just a better chip (and more overclockable :D)
AMD need more cores to have the same advantage to the intel chips, and intel really are on top of the game just now, so you cannot really compare AMD's top end chips to anything but intels mid range chips if you want to be on par. Tony:) |
