Jeffrey~West shoes

Anyone got a pair?
Any good?
Worth the money?

I've seen some I quite like but want to know if they're worth it, or if I'm just as well getting some Clarks ;)

Almost bought some Tim Little's a while back but eventually baulked at the near £300....

Any other premium brand I should be looking at?

Ta. :)

Leslie 21 July 2010 05:42 PM

Clifford James!

what would scooby do 21 July 2010 05:44 PM

I got some Fred West shoes - seems to have something buried in the heels

:D

Trout 21 July 2010 05:44 PM

Most of my shoes are Jeffrey West. I love 'em.

If I had one criticism it is that the soles are not quite as hard wearing as a Church or Grenson, and I would never put stick-a-soles on a pair of Jeffrey West. Resoling is an eye watering £90.

Having said all of that the uppers wear very well and they are unique in their mode. I have a goatskin pair - they look fabulously distressed and yet are super hard wearing at the same time.

Other shoes I wear are Oliver Sweeney - which I do like and only cost £60 for factory repair - Church and Grenson. Although the latter seems to have lost its way for me.

Big fan of Oliver Sweeney - comfy from the first time they're worn and very distinct styling.

... also bought a pair of Paul Smith shoes the other week and they're like slippers (in terms of comfort!) :thumb:

To be expected.
He's old. :thumb:

Looked at Church's and wasn't overly impressed with the designs.
Paul Smith - find them uncomfy. (got a couple of pairs)

I know I'll end up back at Tim Little with the credit card.....

Sorry but PMSL :lol1:

Do you have a pair for EVERY occasion or what
Do you have a select make that you like to wear when walking into the bedroom, and then another for when the deed is done :lol1:

I never knew footwear could be soooooo departmentalized :cuckoo:

They do a very smart pair of slip ons for a tenner! Why pay more?

You are getting on a bit to be on this forum aren't you?

Having nice shoes does not necessarily make you gay, bending over to buff said shoes and letting your b/f ram his throbbing member up your poop shoot is more of an indication - imho that is;)

zip106 22 July 2010 10:48 AM

Nothing looks worse on anyone than a pair of scruffy shoes.
Salesmen who try and sell me something get nowhere wearing dirty shoes.

I don't mind Mr Byrite but please, wear some nice shoes. :)

Leslie 22 July 2010 11:29 AM

Do those expensive ones have the labels on the outside?

This comment is so far away from insight it is unreal - I cannot think of a gay man on the planet who would wear any of the shoes mentioned on this thread.

Actually - maybe the Birkenstocks ;)

You know - this post made you rise up in my estimation - much to my surprise.

Don't worry though - I am sure you will slide back any time soon ;)

Jimpreza 22 July 2010 01:48 PM

Get yourself some male UGG's Trout!

Les

Les, I totally understand where you're coming from (or going to..), but these 'expensive' shoes really are quality, generally hand made in the UK, and you won't end up buying a new pair every year.

In fact, if looked after, I'd go as far as to say they could last you a lifetime.

Anyway, just been into Flannels in Notts and they haven't got many shoes in at the moment. (although they did have some 'Gaydar' Dolce & Gabbana ones.. :nono: )
I'm certainly not going to buy any via mail order so I'll just have to wait for my weekend away in Manchester/London next month. :)
