Flying ants!!

<Rant mode on!>

I had a call from the missus at work yesterday, she was flapping about flying ants in the kitchen. I flew off home (any excuse!) and was met with a scene from the mummy! They were every where crawling in cupboards and all over the worktops etc!
3 cans of ant spray , 2 tubs of wasp killer and 5 kettles of boiling water later I finally got the kitchen put back together! Of course the nest was under my fully fitted yank style fridge freezer that was NOT easy to move, especially on wodden floor without marking it!

Bl**dy flying ants! :mad:

Flying ants are potential queen ants. When the queen ant is dying, she kills the colony (or they just die naturally or something:lol1:) and then gives birth to several female, flying ants. They fly because, the idea is that they will fly to a new location and set up a colony there.

There we go scoobynet. A nice lesson on flying ants.

P.S. I could be completely wrong but i read that somewhere so use the information how you like.....:D
