Hawkeye engine build upto 500bhp

Im just about to look under the bonnet of a hawkeye ive had for a bit to rebuild it as i bought it with a broken motor.

Im well versed with the classic, but never touched the avcs heads and tumblers e.t.c

I want under the bonnet to look well and minimal so want to remove as much as possible, im looking for advice on making things minimal under there.

I.e i beleive the tumblers are there really for cold start so the way forward to get rid is to get a spec c inlet manifold as thi does not have them, so i can lose some junk there.
Also i have seen some blank plates for the cylinder heads as i beleive they have some air system to get extra air in - so can this all be removed and blanked??

also im thinking of the s206 turbo from engine tuner??? any advice on other options as i really dont want the expense of going twisted with everything else.

I already have some internals and now im waiting till i open the engine too see what else i need so far i have cp pistons and tomei forged rods all new of course.

Any advice on the baove or anything else that can be removed as i strip it would be great.

Thanks in advance

front mount, better spark, better fuelling, new ecu, acl race bearings, new oil modine, better cylinder heads with cams, arp head bolts (14mm conversion perhaps), better gaskets. Not saying all will be required but may help to preserve the life of your new 500 hp engine.

Heads and ECU are capable of 500 as they are. A bit of work on them wouldnt go a miss considering a port and polish and some supertech valves and springs.

Camshaft wise speak to Lateral they do various ones.

GRD car is over 500 on the OE engine, how long is anybodys guess but its out there.

Newage heads out of the box are better than nthe older classic stuff.

WHAT ABOUT THE TUMBLERS AND HEAD AIR SYSTEM????? Will the standard ecu not throw on check light????

yes. did on mine. All sorted when its mapped

As Mike says, when mapped properly any fault codes will be mapped out.

Duncan, Dynamix on here has removed the air system on his hawk, that car was running over 500bhp on the OE ECU however he has since gone for a syvecs. Be worth dropping him a PM for advice maybe.

And still on STD heads and cams too.

Tgv and air pump went ages ago.

I am probably wrong but I dont think the spec c inlet will be compatible with drive by wire but the tgv's can still be removed because mine have been but I dont know how it was done.
