Classic squeaking brakes

Can anyone help?

My brakes are starting to squeak, not when you actually brake but when you are driving at low speeds, it goes when you touch the pedal.

I took them wheels off, removed the pads and copper-eased the backs of the pads, this didn’t help, so I removed the anti-squeal plates, which helped a bit but didn’t cure the problem.

I couldn’t see any obvious issues, the discs and pads and a lot of life left in them, so I am a bit stumped at the moment.

   :wonder: :wonder: :wonder:

Oh BTW... 1996 UK Classic with standard 2 Pots at the moment.

My 98 wagon import does that too, but it doesn't really bother me as the discs&pads are fine, So i wouldn't let it worry you.

Mines doing this too at the moment. Cleaning the brakes helps for a day or two then it comes back! This morning though nothing at all, so must be related to the prolonged dry weather somehow as I've not had it before.

Might be worth trying a few big stops?

Mine used to do the same and they do every now and then.. do you have Grooved and Drilled disks? if so they generally need a good rape and they should be ok.. my problem was brade residue stuck to my disks. I used some Nail polish remover and some wire wool and done the trick ...
