what top mounted intercooler for 1994 wrx
have seen the fitting guides but they dont mention the early 1994 wrx.
I ve got a 1994 jdm wrx wagon, is there a top mounted intercooler i can use from later models that are bigger and easyish to fit? Cheers guys |
Sti 6 cooler.
Trim inlet minfold and lip off the cooler. Make blanking plate for where the DV would sit as wont fit there. New hose for under the cooler with DV hose off (fleabay - about £24 - aslo comes with tb to cooler hose). Make up small palte to steady the cooler on the turboside bracket. Bend the gearbox mount cover to fit the Y-pipe over. Done - I THINK! There are some pics on here from when peeps have done it - you'll have to trawl the threads. |
ive got one for sale in the market place forum on here of a 2004 blobeye wrx. theyre bigger than the classics. have a look m8

Just be aware bud that the newage coolers require a bit more work to get in - they are better though.:thumb:

I have a V3/4 STi intercooler for sale (with hard pipe), with the DV output cut off and welded - has to be done to clear a sensor. I also have the undertray and rubber strip. I also have the Samco hose kit TCS22 that is required to fit it. The newage is a real pig to fit to the slanty IC cars:(
I am only selling it all as I am fitting a FMIC instead (V long story) PM me if you are interested |
If you want to run 300 bhp plus don't mess about. Go straight to a Hybrid FMIC. Do it right. Do it once.

Fannying around trying to get a later tmic to fit will be much harder work and wont work as well as a FMIC from Harvey (and will be more expensive most likely) :thumb: |
