Bird Poo has left stains in paintwork.

Hey all.

Whats the best way to remove bird poo stains on me car. I've a black car.

I had not long washed the car, and a seagull poo'ed all over the door. When I realised what had happened, I washed it off. It had dried though.

Now there is like a stain resudue on it. I've washed over it with hot water, shampoo but it won't go. I've also tried a detailer to but no luck.

Great.

I am going to wax and polish her very soon. But is there anything else in the meantime, like tar remover.

Cheers

T-cut fast colour or colour magic will pull it out if it's nice and fresh :)

Errr NO !

If it's damaged it's damaged, light quality cutting polish can reduce its appearance, but if you are at all 'novice' don't risk making it worse seek out a professional. Lot's can be done but not with T-cut:lol1:

well said fella thats why people bring it to me to work through the compound grades with the apropriate mop heads to avoid breaking or hazing the clear coat.

Not to mention measuring paint thickness before you start randomly rubbing away lol !

G8RDK 05 July 2010 11:35 PM

Use some G3 matey then you can get rid of the milky effect with either G10 or hand glaze that will do it. Believe it or not bird poop actually has acid in it and if long can really damage the paintwork

G3 once again, plenty of water & a buffer. If its really bad you can use 1500 wet & dry then buff it.

Depends how much it has eaten into the clearcoat.
If it wasn't on long it should not have eaten through it and may have just etched the surface.
Try a light abrasive polish and step it up from there, by hand you wont do any damage.

Also give it a go with clay, it may be residue.
