blob wrx only .5 bar boost when hot!?!

hi all got an 04 wrx, since the hot weather it only boosts up to .5 bar yet when it was cooler it runs normal, any ideas? the only other time it did this the vac pipe foe the boost gauge had come off but this time all vac pipes are fine. all elec connections are also fine. nothing has changed its just done it? it also did it before when it got hot when was chatting with car running and it had only .5 until a couple of miles driving and was then fine again? really scratchin my head here gus could it be the boost control valve ammel valve? anyone else had this? thanks guys:thumb:

If you connect the vac pipe from the manifold directly to the wastegate and it does the same thing then it could be your control valve, whatever you do don't leave any pipes open to atmosphere or your TD04 will be on its way to turbo heaven...there is a temperture compensation build into the ECU, if the sensor for this is playing up (part of the air flow meter I think) then you could get the same effect.

does it feel different?could be the gauge if you're purely going on what the gauge is telling you. not always the car...

My Blob WRX feels really slow in this hot weather, particularly in third..

if it has been openecu your tuner might have set a builtin feature when it detect knock or low octane fuel it cuts down the boost

not mapped or anything its standard, haven't had chance to try running wastegate direct from inlet but last night it was fine again as it was cooler temps!?! it must be the boost control valve if it also detects the temp cos its deffo temp related. its not just the gauge you can feel that its not quite up to its normal 'pull' its just that bit flat after initial boost up just as the gauge say's it hits .5 as fast as normal but thats then it!! :Whatever_
maybe i should jus get an avcr!!:D
