do i need to remove the maf completely, or can i just remove one of the ends to get to it mate?

better to spend the extra few mins to remove and clean and that ensures any dirt cleaned off wont go into the intake.

I didn't think your supposed to clean them, either way is it not a better idea to replace it?
At the end of the day it's a very sensitive piece of equipment, and I for one would want to know it's in good working order. At the end if the day it's your engine and you are running a risk of serious problems if it is even slightly faulty.!

iv read on here that your not ment to clean the v5-6 mafs, i believe my mafs is working because i unplugged it yesterday, and the cel came on and went off when i reconnected it, so i guess the maf is working maybe just needs a clean?

found what the problem was it was a small vacum pipe which came off the manifold.
