Can a headlight be cleaned on the inside

I have a my00 sti with crystal headlights and 1 is dirty inside and my hids arent as effective as they should be , now i was wondering if these can be split to allow cleaning of the mirror finish inside

They CAN be split, yes, although it's NOT easy and involves baking them in the oven, prising apart and then re-heating to glue them back together.

Get it wrong, you'll melt the plastic the LENS is made from, (unless it's glass), and maybe the reflector too.

And once it's open, what then? The silvering is on the inner surface of the light, with nowt to protect it. Start polishing it, you run the risk of scratches etc and making it unusable.

Might be better off searching one out on e-bay?
