Insurance stupidity.

Just told my insurance I now have BC suspension, anti lift and a load of other stuff.... they charged me £15.75.

I would have thought it would come down because it is now safer :cuckoo: They were worried it might be set too low. Apparently that's how accidents happen.

Sigh.

£15.75??????????? Wow, can you afford it? LOL:D

Seriously, my eldest's insurers threatened to cancel his policy because he put 17" alloys on his car. We eventually had to find over £150 extra......or rather, I did. sigh.

Its hardly stupidity. £15.75 for mods fully declared and in the event of a claim they will replace like for like......

I'm not sure what your point is to be honest and I think that we should be doing :cuckoo: to you.........

I am not sure that insurance companies will give discounts for kit that might possibly make the car safer, more likely they will ask why you want the car to handle better, stop more quickly etc.

at least u dont need to worry if the worst happens as its all legal and above board now

Actually no but I'll change my plea to sarcasm.

The height conversation happened though.

Well that all depends on what company we're talking about. It is a VERY big assumption that all companies will replace mods like for like. A lot will do nothing of the kind: I used to be with Elephant, but when I called up and declared some exhaust and filter mods I was told that, although they would charge me around £190 extra, plus an 'admin charge' for their trouble, in the event of a claim they would NOT replace or pay for the mods.

I asked by what definition of the the term this therefore classed as 'insurance', but was met with uninterested stupidity.

So I told them to go f**k themselves. :)

Your lucky thats all they charged you. IMO

Your moaning about that? When I rung Endsleigh to tell them about my Prodrive BB they added £800

tathan 25 June 2010 10:34 PM
