Front brakes squeek!!

Need some advise!

I have an AP 6 pot front brake upgrade. Not had the car long and have noticed a squeek when I brake lightly, goes away when I brake harder.

Any ideas?

Cheers
:wonder:

Hi etxp85, cheers 4 ur reply. That's good to know, I thought there was something wrong:(

what about clicking sounds on full lock, car has had 18" alloys fitted! Does not appear to be rubbing on the bodywork.

Any thoughts??

Think you'll find it might be the shims are missing and this is causing slight vibration. Take out pads, and try some copper grease on outer edge, where the pistons meet the pads. This should help

Cheers!

It only clicks when I put full right hand lock on. Its only slight but I wondered if it is a major problem.

Thanks

Sounds like an outer cv joint on a front driveshaft.

Try reversing with full lock. If it is louder then almost defo cv joint

I had the same problem squeaking and quite hard clicking when turning right and sometimes left normally on flat ground (really bad when parking in a car park) , i sourced it to the brakes, took out the pads pulled the 2 small pieces of metal off the caliper that the pads sit inbetween, scrapped all the brake dust off them and the bit of caliper they sit against and hey presto squeaking and creaking is now gone. This info maybe of no use to you if your calipers are brand new but hopefully this info helps
I hope you sort the prob as i no how annouying squeaking and creaking is
