engine smoking problems
 
hi im new to this site as i brought a 94 wrx impreza yesterday on the way home it started smoking going up hills i refillled the engine oil and its worse so i removed the turbo to check it and it seemed dry and no play then i removed the manifold and the left bank front exhaust port is wet with oil and the others are dry any one got any ideas ??????????

Welcome :) sounds as though you could have a knackered piston, if you bought the car from a dealer then take it back, if its private then your in a bit of a pickle, you could try getting your money back from them but the best option is to try to get money for an engine rebuild, either way its a speciallist to check the car out, doesnt sound good though :(

bit gutted realy brought it from ebay as a classified woul it be easier to put a replacement lump in and any ideas where the best place is to get 1

Its always best to rebuild if you can, you know what goes into the engines then, buying a 2nd hand engine is a mine field, people like smr/ideal engines for instance do "reconditioned" engines which are just gunked and resprayed silver, 2k down the drain, or go to someone like API engines who will sort you out an engine rebuild for similar cash :D
