2005 Honda Civic headlight bulbs

As above guys, want to change the "candles" that are the headlight bulbs.
This is for my missus, so i want it to look nice (for when i drive it :norty:)
and mostly, an improved light yield (for safety :freak3:)

Anyone know what the bulbs are? plus what the best aftermarket improved bulbs i can get for it??

Thanks in advance.
Matt :D

don't know whats in your car, but if you go to http://www.powerbulbs.com/ you'll beable to find out.:thumb:

I bought Philips X-treme bulbs for my high and low beam plus the Blue-vision parking lights. Really impressed with the X-treme bulbs a serious difference compared to the junk that was in the car before.

Is it a type R? If so, you should have OEM projector headlights, that'll be ripe for a bit of HID converting.

It's a 1.6 se, with standard halogens Joey.
Was looking at fitting type r headlughts, but i'm not a professional football player. hehe

The philips extreme +80% or the Osram nightbreakers at +90% both invariably score well in tests - the phillips are often considered a tiny bit better but tend to be slightly pricier, realistically they're both a huge improvement and the differences are quite small. You wouldn't be disappointed with either; I've got Osrams in my car, the wife's car and had them in the wife's previous car - always very good.

Ring have now brought out Xenon Max +100% which is the highest claimed figure, but their older +90%s were not well rated compared to the Phillips/Osram. I have no experience of the new +100s, but Ring are proper bulb manufacturers so they may be comparable to the Osram/Phillips.

Don't be fooled by the "+xx% claims".Halfords also do own brand "extreme brilliance +90%". I made the mistake of trying them when they were 1/2 price - whilst they're better than standard bulbs, they felt more like what Phillips / Osram would call "+30%" bulbs (this was confirmed in an auto-express test a year or two back)
