lightened flywheel

might be silly question but will i need to get my car remapped if i fit a lightened flywheel:wonder:

No will be fine without a remap, lower mass flywheel will just take less to get moving

and will judder at low speeds / cause you to stall a bit until you get used to it. You have to positively drive them everywhere due to the lower inertia - which is what helps it rev quicker.

Just dont go too light with the flywheel. I did and its a pain. LOL.

if you car is a 5 speed then anything under 6kg will judder like a bugger. My brother has a 6.1kg ACT flywheel and it judders on take off every time. you will need to giv more revs to smooth things out

To be honest I find it a pain! lol. Gimme back a skimmed OEM one anyday.

Im going for another Exedy Pink Clutch with skimmed OEM flywheel in my 5 speed this time, excellent combo for everyday & odd trackday driving. Had it on my JDM 6 speed & worked a treat.

I have a 5spd 6kg LWFW on a pink exedy and it's fine :) Mine is a 95 STi with fairly short ratios which may make a difference.
