As above, got myself a UK300 PPP great car it is but I need more power!
Is this the path i should go down?
I have heard some stories about the engine check light but from looking through the past 30 day's of threads i am no clearer, can anyone help?

Scoobysport sell a little box that fools the CEL so that the dam thing stops coming on - always a problem when swopping the downpipe.

Have driven the spec you mention (+ an ITG filter) and its definately a far more driveable car, even around town :D Impressed me so much that I'm about to do the very same to my UK300 - just be careful with the warranty issue.

RB5SCOTT has gone down that route (and a little further ;) ) so you should talk to him about that. I think that Terry Williams (Tezza) also has gone that route with his UK300.....

As Dave said check light will come on, but Scoobysport and, I believe Powerstation can solve this.
Power increase is better than just PPP alone, I got 282bhp at 6450rpm on a recent RR day. (pub talk I know but this mod you can feel on the road) The difference is it will pull harder towards the redline and not drop off as early like PPP. Turbo spins up slightly quicker. The sound adds to the feeling of speed as well. I also got the centre muffler taken out as well as the up/down pipe.
If you are going to Bedford I will take you out to see what you think. If you get the full de-cat you will not regret it.

Scott's with me at the moment & I have almost the same with out air induction kit &

1. the car spools up so much quicker
2. the sound is awesome
3. yes you probably get 20-30 bhp more
4. Scott on his first dyno hit 289 bhp (can't remember the other figure!)
5. you get awesome flames, lift off from 6k revs or bounce off rev limited when changing up, or between 3.4k & 4k keep gassing the car
6. ScoobySport as mentioned have a work around for the check light problem
7. Go get it done!!!!!

Cheers lads!

I put a decat centre on my old MY99 and was amazed by the results, so I want to go down that road agian.

I also have a ITG pagel filter off my old car but there is a thick sludge on the bottom and i fear for the MAF sensor so i will prob get another rather than clean it as it has done close to 30,000 miles.

Cheers for the offer of a ride Terry but i am in the North West so that is a little far away!

I think you boys have just cost me some money :)

Yep ! but it will be worth it, I was cruising along in 1st gear! & it sounds great..............

Guys,
I also have a UK300 PPP and would also like more power and was thinking of a decat later in the year. The comments on here all seem positive which is good news. I have a few questions though:

Is scoobysport the best route to go, or are there any others?

Is the Subaru warrany only invalidated for related issues? (ie would still be valid for a clutch or electrical problem for example)

What about emissions? I presume you have to keep the old exhaust for when it gets to MOT time to have it *temporarily* restored. I have also heard there may be roadside tests in the near future with heavy fines, anyone heard of this?

Finally has anyone any idea of cost so I can work out when I can afford it?

I spoke to my ins last week and a 10-20% increase in power was about £70 on my insurance which I think I could live with if the results are worth it.

Cheers

Mark :)
