right ive got a bugeye wrx, afew weeks back i got new discs and pads front and rear (friend of a friend) anyway since doing them im getting a squeeling coming from front brakes usually once warmed up (when not braking) anyway if i tap brakes it stop for alil then comes back. took it to another garage today and they said they think im missing a metal shim or summot off front that hold pads tight (as at mo can be wiggled around)

ive tried to get a pic of front and rear neeeed help the squeelings annoying me lol

Yes, the anti-rattle shims/springs aren't there. Were they there when you took the old ones off?

mike wrx 15 May 2010 02:08 PM

im guessing not because everything that came off i watched get put back on, so is it possible to buy the anti rattle shims off the shelf from somewhere on there own?

Depends, I think they are caliper/pad specific.

Try e-mailing a pic to ian@godspeedbrakes.co.uk

pockscooby10 17 May 2010 06:34 PM

they just push in if its the metal spring clips i'm thinking of. i'm presuming all subaru four pots are the same?
