Damn my first double post!!!

mr hat 12 May 2010 12:45 PM

what is the benefit of one of these over a standard one?

mr hat 12 May 2010 12:45 PM

and do they fit a classic

B0DSKI 12 May 2010 02:19 PM

The Prodrive 3 port will give you better boost control at higher boost levels than the oem 2 port.

It should also give you better spoolup, as the solenoid can clamp the wastegate shut easier

It should be plug and play on a 99/00 classic, but for earlier cars you will need to cut and join the wires on the loom (or join to your original boost solenoid connector)

The ecu boost control duty map(s) will need to be tweaked when changing the solenoid

Hi Mate,

I have a version 3 type R which i suspect would have the 2 port boost solenoid?? Would this 3 port one be a straight fit on it? Will i need to do any remapping?

hi

got a 2005 model sti type uk running standard form. is there any advantage to fitting this? i'm planning a remap soon with prodrive downpipe.

is this the same as fitted standard to a WR1?

any pics?

When you get the car remapped with the 3 port, you should be able to hold more boost at the top end, and get better spoolup from the turbo

It's the same as this one -http://mspt.net/shop/images/boost_solenoid.jpg
