OIL CHNAGE ONLY EVER 4.2 LITERS
 

when ever i do my oil change only 4.25 liter come sout and 4.25 liters go in and that with the oil filter filled right up so ther emust alway be about a quater of a liter oil in there engine some where does any one else find this :Suspiciou

i do an oil/filter change and only ever seem to use/need 4 litres, the mark on the dipstick is bang on, always drain the oil warm etc and leave for a good 10 mins or so for all to trickle out

yeah i always do leave it drain for about 30 minutes and its always warm before i drain ther mmeant to ake 4.5 liters i dont no lol

Unless you use an engine wash you will never get all the oil out due it the oil covering all its componants. Its really nothing to worry about. Just use good oil and service regularly. The most important thing to remember is a turbo engine and espicially the turbo run alot hotter so break down the oil alot faster so its important to use a good quality and change as often as you can.

Did you check the level before you drained it. remember these cars use a bit of oil as stated by subaru. so it was maybe below the full mark. but .25 of a litre is nothing..

03STi I measure 4.5L inc prefilling filter and it comes bang on the full mark.

yeah i check my oil level all the time every week at leats and i cnage my oil every 3000-4000 miles use good oil i guess you just cant get every last drop out
