Oh how I am so looking forward to having the new sound, the new torque - itchy feet already !

Can somebody help - When I have fitted the DP will I need to replace to pass through emmissions test for MOT ? Not over worried as still have 11 months, but would be useful to know so as can be prepared. Also my Heat shield is apparently vibrating when in 2nd an 3rd gear mainly at lowish revs 3000rpm or when letting off of throttle. Can I tighten this up, replace (cost)or remove completly and lag, what would be best suggestion ? Or will when I have trim it to put DP on solve the problem ?

Will I feel the difference in the ITG filter just on its own with back box as I can do them in about 1hr tops

Sorry so many questions.

Also if anybody is selling or knows of 4 x 17" silver or anthracite alloys with reasonable tread, most things considered, drop me a line.

Cheers
Steve

Nearly forgot can anybody tell me where I can find spare grill panels for the bonnet on MY96 turbo, preferably black - cash waiting drop me aline.

Heat shield may only need to be bent with a large screwdriver or crow bar - though don't be too energetic. Had the same problem on mine until today when with a little force the heat shield was given a bit more room.

Certain subaru specialists have a centre pipe with 2 cats in it, that they put in for you & then you get through the MOT & then its replaced with your original centre pipe! Everyones happy!!!

With ITG & Backbox (backbox) mainly you might notice 2-3 bhp more

Thanks Knowsley - i'll try the screw driver idea

Croxton7,

I have recently an SS bb and an ITG, first thing you will notice, the new noise!! The bb sounds great and the ITG makes a nice "fisst" when you back off or change gear, at high rev's of course! As for extra BHP, "they" say 5/6 bhp for the bb and the same for the ITG, you may notice it feels a little free'er thru the rev's. I had the bb done at a kwik fit, £10, and put the ITG in myself, 10 mins. Remove big thick pipe that attaches to the filter box at both ends, undo the two clips, take old paper filter, put in ITG, it helps to remove the in airtake as well.

I still the need for a little umph, SS downpipe it next on the list, thats where "it's" at apparently.

Cheers,

Leigh

And try Grade A Subaru in Macclesfield for your grill, their on the web, or post in the "wanted forum", loads of people have stuff in the garage.

I've posted in the wanted section! I'll give it a few days or i'll order a one, I think it adds 15/20 bhp(??), and if you replace the centre pipe, it's "Pops, bangs and FLAMES!"

Well this has just cost me a few quid!

Later

It really does flame 2 methods of getting flames, though your car needs to have had a good run first!

1. At 6k revs lift right off, you'll get a terrific "bang" & in the dark will see a nice orange glow

2. between 3,400 & 4,000 revs keep pushing the gas, & within a few moments "pop, bang" & BBQ time

3. Practise down changing as you soon learn when to get the car popping

Try not to do this infront of local constabulary!

Enjoy & get a daily ticket at Esso (it took me £30 of petrol to find how to get the best flames!)

Knowsley,

You mention above about the kind garage that will assist in an MOT, may ask where you are from, is there a rather large clue in your UserName, if so I'm, not that far and could use such a service.

Cheers,

Leigh
