Little bit of help please ?
When rebuilding an EJ20 lump, do you re-new the head bolts & block bolts ??
Also is there a certain sequence you tighten the block bolts up in ? Just going for mild mild tune of 300-350hp standard internals. Thanks in advance :o) jb |
I would renew the bolts, but which block and internals are you talking about

How's the re-shell going JB?
That sort of power shouldn't a problem with the right parts (apexi power FC, Z32, 550cc injectors etc) |
Ello mate :)
Yeah it's going well !! Will post a pic up in a min. Just a lil bit of paint, a set of wheels & the engine to do. Do you know if we need to re-new the head & block bolts ?? It's an import EJ20 open deck block wit O.E. crank & rods. Cheers jb |
The engine in question..

They are both fine to reuse.
If engine has seen load of heat as in head gasket failed engine would renew head bolts. |
