part of intake scoop cut out???
 

just bought an impreza sti and was having a look under the bonnet and noticed a section cut out of the scoop right next to the airbox. any reason its there??? im asumming the car had some sort of custom airbox put in and the previous owner hasnt replaced the scoop.
