Old Audi-Any ideas on what it's worth please
 

Someone is after my old Audi. Now I kept it for sentimental value. It will be 20 in June this year :eek: Audi Quattro, 20 valve, Coupe Quattro. 2.3. G plate
Full service history, less than 95k miles.
It is in the garage on two flat tyres and a flat battery. Passed it's MOT with flying colours two years ago. I just wanted to see if it was still ok :o It has not been driven properly for over 7 years :eek: Since I got into Scoobies
Seems a shame, when someone could be enjoying it. Any advice please.

Theres one on Pistonheads here for £1400 although its done twice the miles. My old man had one of these new. Lovely car, I'd keep it and use it :luvlove:

It is a cracking car, and to be honest, value wise money is not worth the fun it is to drive, even now.
Thanks for the input. I was told about 1500, (just wanted to check with the people on here as it seems one hell of a car for that money) but have been advised to keep it as it will soon become a classic, whatever that means?? :)

I reckon it's a classic already, good advice to keep it. If you have the room to store it and you're not desperate for £1500 it's a no brainer. Sounds like there was only 500 made according to the PH advert. How much would it cost to insure it on a classic, limited miles policy? I'm a bit of sucker for late 80's cars like this, I think it's a stonking motor, I'd love it. :thumb::luvlove:

I would expect it to go to a real enthusiast for at least £2K, once it is MOT, tyres sorted, battery replaced and cleaned up. Maybe even more

If it was the RS2 or S2 then it would be something special worth hanging onto. But if you have a taker I was just part with it, and let it have a better life. Its only going to sieze up if you store it any longer. Best part company with the old girl and let someone who will love her and drive take her on.

As said nice tidy example with a new ticket, tyres etc has got to be worth 2K all day long.

It looks great and the miles not a problem. I would not part with it for that money, at least try one of the audi specialist boards for interest. It is too damn cheap and if for sale for that sort of money then let me have a crack at it!

However and as a mate my advice is;
TBH i would keep it if you can affort to. to keep it and run it may require;
Oil and filter tyres as required
Tyres
brakes - hopefully only pads.
Belts including cambelt kit - belt tensioners, etc unless it is a chain drive of course
Fluids changing coolant, brake fluid and power steering
all the above are easily done yourself, except maybe the cambelt but not too expensive if you go to a local/specialist

and there you have it an fine reliable classic you can use everyday:)

I would keep it and run it, try and find another nice low miles quality performance car for £1,500.00. Even if you spend 500.00/600.00 on it it would be an investment.

It is a cool car and a future classic, insurance not likely to be too bad on it either, speak to a classic broker about restriced miles (3000-6000) policy maybe but someone like Footman James for example. http://www.footmanjames.co.uk/

I wouldn't just store it in a garage. You need to give it a run every now and again to keep everything moving.

My Son was supposed to help me with it today, but the big swine did not come home until 5 in the morning, did not surface until about 4pm and has a raging hangover.
He said he will help tomorrow, getting it out of the garage and sprucing it up for some pics. Wish me luck :thumb:

Thanks everyone else. As I said, I love the car, but seems a shame to have it rotting in a garage when someone else could be having some serious fun with it :)

Hi Lee, remind me, how old are you boys? what about one them buying it and running it, keep it in the family?

I understand you wanting it to go to an enthusiast and that is good it does feel like you are giving it away though.

By future classic it is a car with a rally pedigree, it has presence and looks to match and people (petrolheads especially) like them. Why not use it as a project and get your lads to get it in top condition (if they are interested) then sell it and share some of the profits with them for thier work/effort. I would have thouht that car in good condition with low miles is worth 3k+

Stick it on one of the Audi Quattro boards to guage interest in it i think you will be suprised, i have alway hankered after one.

It may not be the early shape but still a hansome car and desirable.

My Son is 19 and my Daughter is 16. No one will touch my Son on insurance, hence my idea to sell and buy perhaps a Mini. Something they could share.
I have not been able to do anything with the car this weekend as it has done nowt but rain :mad: So it is still covered in dust in the garage :(
Not heard from the guy who was interested,all weekend, but he did say he would be busy. I have had a few enquiries from other parties.
Am in a right situation, as most people are advising me to keep it. :)
