A lesson learnt!

Bad news! We (as in the Legacy forum) had a tunnel run in London last night. I had a puncture, took the wheel off and find three cracks inside the rim!

They are less than a year old (the rims that is), so i'm going be buying a new set of 18s plus tyres. Last time i bought a cheapo set off ebay. Never again!

Considering like most Impreza drivers i tend to push on a little come the twisties the consequences of a rim shattering doesn't bare thinking about.

Sorry to hear the bad news maybe the puncture was a blessing in disguise?

^^^^

You know what i thought the exact same thing! I'm so glad i've had it now. The pics of the other two cracks didn't come out clear. Unfortunately i drove back from London on a space saver averaging 47mph all the way back to Birmingham. On the plus side i used less than a quarter tank of fuel.

Ah mate that's proper scary! It's not like it's a hairline crack either is it! What make of rim were they? You decided what you're replacing them with? :)

Lucky escape,to say the least!I had the same thing happen on a set of pff7 copies, that I bought privately on flea bay.
Was washing them and noticed a crack from the front to the back of one of the spokes-straight throught and you could see the space in between:eek:
I hadn't hit a kerb or a pothole,so I don't know what went wrong...When you think back about what could easily have happened-gives me a shiver!
Me- always looking for a good deal,You get what you pay for,I suppose:D
