which is the live?
can anyone tell me which is the live on a cigarette lighter plug thing.
is it the wire that goes to the tip, or the wire that goes to the sides? :) |
Tip should imagine

Think you will find its the centre pin get volt meter and go between centre pin and metal part of car you should get voltage if not try other pin and metal part :thumb:
|
I thought that too, but thought it was better to ask the pool of knowledge first :D
|
Always worth an ask rather than blow a fuse :D
|
its a 12v tv for the caravan so not sure it will be just a fuse, it will probably just melt the caravan lol
|

simon a bloke has just left ian mountains on one of his tarmac 8 wheelers, any use?

Who can answer this then.
Why don't you get a shock off it if you stick your finger down there. ..and, sort of linked.. Why can you get your electric tooth brush charger base, which can charge a high powered device, which only uses plastic conducter, is water proof and u can stick in your gob while charging, not electrocute you? Prize for the shortest, precise answer, that is correct, concerning the base charger and 12v ciggy power thing. |

Do you enjoy having shocks in other places ? :Suspiciou

Tip is live, usually the live and is usually a brown or red wire as the return/earth is usually black.
Go buy a 12v tester/probe-screwdriver to check. |
Tip is live, it is better protected from the earth side of the circuit. Whether it is positive or not depends which way round the battery is connected.
