Which black tuner style wheel nuts?
 

Well I've bought a set of Rota Gras off a guy on here, and so I dont scuff them up I want to get a set of internal drive wheel nuts in black (currently I have the standard silver nuts which are a bit chipped and did scratch the seat of the current wheels a bit)

Searching the forums here and ebay I think these are the options that I have found, they dont include locking nuts as such but cant see much of an issue as they arent an overly normal fitment anyway:
The cheap ones are steel and chemical black from what I can work out so not sure how they'll last (car is used in all weathers)?? same question for the others I guess too?

I think the cheaper of the 2 alloy versions are out, just dont look the quality of the ultralites, I believe the steel ones are made by ultralite as well - just dont want them to rust!?
Not overly convinced that the weight difference is much of an issue for the difference, so its mainly for looks and ease of use ie not scuffing the wheels with a regular socket.

got em on my Oz wheels along with McGard black nuts and they are mint.

I wouldn't bother with the Ultralite ones,i've just got rid off a set!!
First the outer casing falls off :mad: and then if your not careful they break very easily.I had 2 crack on me and then spent 3 hours trying to get the damn things off :brickwall.
Tbh honest i wouldn't bother at all with tuner nuts full stop.I've bought a set of the D1 spec :thumb: ones on the group buy off here and also a special socket set from Amazon that have nylon outer casings to prevent damage to the wheel,totaling less than £50 so also a lot less than Ultralites :D

My Kei nuts looked mint for about 3 months then they went rusty :mad:

I had black Ultralite internal nuts on my Ultralite Atec alloys for three and a half years.Just used copper grease each time put wheels back on and torque to 60-75nm.I now have Rota Gravel alloys in gunmetal with same Ultralite nuts in Blue.Got from Jap Shop.com.

+1 good as gold @ 78-80Nm too. Just don't be stupid and take them off hot:thumb:

I fitted a set of Ultralights last night, love em :)

And am sure the steering feels lighter this morning lol!!! would they make any difference???

Cool think Im going with the ultrlites then, fitted the wheels today with the old nuts which was a bit of a nightmare although I did eventually find a socket that was thin enough to work, not easy starting them off by hand in those recesseses though...!

Where do you put the copperslip? on the cone/seat that contacts the wheel or on the actuall threads?

Put the copper grease on the thread.You don't need to use a lot.:thumb:

very small amount of copper slip on the thread - very small amount only though... torqued mine of at around 85Nm...
