Zerosports VF28 hybrid turbo

Zerosports VF28 hybrid turbo, currently fitted to my STi6 RA Lim, mapped by Paul to 343bhp on the Zen dyno. Will be removed this weekend for upgrade, but can be demonstrated on the car at the moment (Cambridge/M11). Very responsive, makes for a practical, quick classic. Good all-round condition, supplied and fitted by Harvey 1-yr ago who previously had it producing 350bhp on a P1 apparently.

Looking for £300ono.

Andy

what makes your turbo a hybrid exactly?

every1sgottablue1 22 April 2010 12:02 PM

Does it come with actuator, and oil feed pipes?

every1sgottablue1 22 April 2010 12:05 PM

Any play in the shaft, does it smoke at all, mileage? I would like first dibs if you answer the questions mate ;)

Andy916 22 April 2010 05:38 PM

Actuator yes. Oil feed pipes - I think so, since my new 321H has its own oil feed pipe.

Pretty sure the shaft will be fine, but it's on the car at moment, coming off on Sunday. No smoke. Max 5k miles in my hands, on the best synth oil, and lowish miles by Harvey/Darren before me (can check).

cheers
Andy

Very interested mate, can pick it up aswell. Let me know what the shaft is like when you get it off ;)

shag 22 April 2010 09:44 PM

can you tell us what makes it a hybrid please,

Andy916 25 April 2010 09:38 PM

Hybrid - well, the housings look similar size to standard VF28, so it must be that one or both wheels are different size to standard. Don't know any more than that. What I do know is that it's about as responsive as a standard VF28 low-down but goes on to make 340-350bhp peak with appropriate supporting mods.

In negotiation with every1sgottablue1 now, who requested first dibs.

garetgax 25 April 2010 10:21 PM

a vf28 will make 340/350 with supporting mods anyhow.

agree with the above

Here we go; it's easy to throw those numbers around on the forum but typically you will see a lot less than that from a standard VF28. My VF28 made 310bhp on the same engine on a reputable map (JGM). Andy Forrest quotes 310-330bhp for remapped VF28 - http://www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk/58761.html

So, on my engine I went from 310 to 343bhp with this turbo.

Note there's plenty of variation between dynos, their operators and the way the car is tested, meaning that these numbers are approximate measurements only. See http://www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk/26063.html

sorry mate, not throwing figures around as have a vf28 on my car making 315bhp mapped by jgm and i have graphs to prove. hence why i asked what makes your turbo a "hybrid" thats able to produce 350bhp as i would love to be able to get those figures out of mine.

not doubting what you are claiming, simply asking for more info.

good luck with the sale and a free bump

Is removed from the car now, top condition, available for collection.
