I do agree fella`s, but i really would like to enter the time attack series when the car is finished so may go with an aero type spoiler for on track and spoilerless when not, ill see if i can find some sort of gromit to cover holes when needs be.

worbs 10 July 2010 06:44 PM

Done a few more hours today, didn`t get alot done really spent bloody ages getting arches fixed on and bonded/screwed to car.
Rubbed down side skirts and sprayed and fitted, fitted an inlet temp guage in the dash surround, and put back bumper and boot lid back on, few piccy`s of todays work.

Rear view, i love how she looks sitting here, Sitting a tad high though as no running gear. And also just noticed how wonky the dam subaru lettering is, thought it would look cool sprayed in with the boot lid, it would if it was straight, another kick from the nobhead i bought the car of

A side skirt baking in the sun
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...s/SAM_0333.jpg

Arch bonded and fixed in place......does the rear shock look a funny angle to anyone else here ????
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...s/SAM_0329.jpg

And just a shot with skirt fitted, need to get body and front bumper sprayed next.
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...s/SAM_0346.jpg

Iv really impressed myself with my spraying ability and found it quite fun to be honest, well untill i found out most matt paints contain cyanide :o lol, it`s all good i use a proper mask anyways.

I would also like to apologise to pete for leaving his workshop in a state.
I will clean it up next week mate i promise :D

superhero 27 February 2011 10:06 AM

liking the build so far!! every build I read on the subie forums is a reality check for me... start off innocent enough and then all of a sudden you are upgrading everything and its costing 5 to 10 times your original budget!! let alone its gonna sit for 2 years to get built!! I will seriously consider having one daily driver subie and then one project car so at least I can drive one of them daily ;-)

good luck... subscribed!

worbs 27 February 2011 09:37 PM

Its defiantly not cheap mate and it is the cost that causes the build time for me as i have to save for the expensive parts for a few months, if i was loaded the build would prob only take several months maybe less if i actually knew what i was doing lol.
Thanks for the positive comments mate it does give a little boost to know people are reading and enjoy/ are interested in what i am doing.

PROJECT PHOENIX

Just read through your thread, and i take my hat off to you mate. As you mentioned, some people just leave their projects with tuners and say "no budget, want car back in 8-12 weeks". They are lucky, but at end of the day, you have built this car!

Well done:thumb::thumb:

Thanks mate, I think even if I did have the money I'd still of done as much off it as possible my self as I actually enjoy working on it, plus it gets me away from the mrs with a valid excuse lol, kidding, I look forward to being able to answer people who ask "who built it" with "I did" especially if the car will be even slightly competitive. Again thanks for the kind words chap.
