Looking nice buddy, I run with no rear seat section in, once you have bucket seats with harnesses you can't use the rear seat anyway (depends on where the harness attach obviously) the only difference I have found is you can hear your fuel system working that little bit louder and all of the road noises are that bit louder, but that doesn't bother me.

Would like to see Frayz carbon rear fire wall for a newage, I haven't seen this one.

I did notice that as I shuffled her around the garage, the fuel system noise would really get to me on a long run. Check Frayz build thread the carbon looks great but as with all thinks comes at a high price.

Just waiting on 8 bolts before the seats can be fitted, really impressed with the buddyclub rails very easy to fit. (Thanks Alyn AS performance)

I am also waiting on some carbon fibre sheets to blank off the seat belt holes, Toffee what did you do with the spaces that are left after removing the seatbelts ?:thumb:

Some nice kit there and I bet you got it for a bargain ;), you just need some sabelt shoes now ( next on my list).

Looking great there Chris. Personally I'd avoid the carbon firewall and spend the money elsewhere. It takes alot of work to make them fit to any sort of acceptable standard.
Id go aluminium if I were you.

I have left the seat belts in place bud, wasn't sure at the time if the bucket seat would be a permanent fixture but then learnt to live with it, forgot about the belt so its still in place :thumb:

Thanks for the kind comments guys, fitting the seats was a real pain in the ass as they are a little too wide as they flare out at the top and bottom, I have removed the seat belt trim to get a better fit. I am very happy with the look and function just need my another bits to finish the inside off. Spent the rest of the week getting her clean ready for the summer if we ever get one....

Hi all, Sorry another bump for my thread so I can look back on progress.


1st off my car had her yearly detail with the full blackfire protection (wax and sealant).

I also got round to dealing with those yellow caps that I have always hated! I also updated my dated blue prodrive mud flaps for a set of carbon flaps with fake Prodrive stickers. Sadly I haven’t been able to get hold of a set of real prodrive flaps in black but the search will continue

I have also finally got all the parts to fit my wheel, more advice from Frayz and an order placed with Playskool motorsport for a Works bell kit. Fitted this week and so far I am very happy with the build and quality of the kit.

Sadly the spanner monkey (Me!) made a mess of the fitting 1st time round so I had a Nascar style permanent left hand turn. O well I fixed my own mistake and learnt another few lessons about getting my hands dirty.

End of last year I fitted a light weight battery and then made a custom carbon fibre cover to clean the look up and hide the cables / connector to my trickle charger. I also had to customize the RCM oil cap to make it fit correctly as the oil neck pip they used on my build was different to the standard WRX/STI fitment.

I also have a set of aero catches to fit and plans for either KW or Ohlin’s suspension, Carbon diffuser, S12B rally vents, rear APs and the list goes on and on but hopefully there will be a few more little custom tweaks to finish my look off and make it a little more personal to me! :thumb:

Very worrying for everyone that knows me I have also started to invest in tools so maybe I will start doing a few more jobs myself!!!! Maybe

Teng Tool box supplied from the guys at Thorny Motorsport, the trolley was used for the last two seasons in the BTCC. I loved the motorsport history so had to get it bought since then I have had a weird desire to buy tools! Very odd.. sure my OCD will take over and I plan to cut all my kit into foam shadow boards inside the draws.

Thanks Tommy, Yes I am a big WRC fan so without a doubt my inspiration is a road going rally car. As a kid supercars never did it for me “if I won the lottery type questions” it would have be the 555 Subaru or the ford Super touring car!

Not sure about the cage its a fine line between a great touring road/track car. I use the car for touring Europe and going to Le Mans etc so I want to keep it useable but super fun for a weekend blast. A rear cage only would be the ideal situation but its low down on the list.

For example I have only decided to go with carbon door covers in the back and the plan is to get the fronts re trimmed to match the wheel etc, it’s a hard balance and I am sure I want get it right all the time! (no graphics yet tho!!0

(fitting a rear camera soon, not sure if I will go as technical as you did but that was a super cool idea:notworthy)
