Cleaning white wheels
Borrowing some white wheels at the mo and they are filthy, just gone outside to clean them and there is a hell of a lot of baked on brake dust (tried using my fingernails to scrape it off and it isn't budging)
I've read this http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acata...ing-paint.html presumably it's the same process to get rid of crap on wheels? |
I always use wonder wheels & a jet wash, that should get pretty much anything off!

you can use meguires wheel brightner which is good stuff, also if you have a old bit of a clay bar you can clay bar the wheels that works as well,i think the way to deal with white wheels is all in the prep get them clean and make them stay that way by using a dedicated wheel wax and regular cleaning and resealing with the wheel wax.hope this helps.

Another vote for wonder wheels here.

Just used the Autoglym product (yes i know you said wonder wheels but this was on offer :) ) and the dirt is well and truly stuck on it,it did clear a hell of a lot of it off but I think the wheels need to be stripped down and repainted as there is damage to the paintwork.
Thanks for your suggestions though :) |
I use gloss it wheel gel it is second to none and tardis this will shift most things sometime a clay bar may be needed to.

The reason wonder wheels works well is because it contains acid. Make sure you clean the wheels as much as you can as you don't want to leave any acid on there, it can ruin a nice set of wheels. I just use plain old elbow grease on my White wheels :D

Avoid it altogether if the coating on your wheels is cracked. Nasty stuff. If you have to use something strong go for Megs Wheels Brightner. Clean them properly once then seal them up and keep on top of it. You'll have no need to use wheel acids again. |
