As a parent it just makes you want to cry...
|
I may be ignorantly generalist but are all these events carried out by a certain type of parent - usually socially inept, uneducated and reliant on benefits.
They are probably a victim themselves of abuse but to try and quote from Red Dragon, 'I feel sympathy for them as a child but want them locked away as adults.' Steve |
Did I read that right? 12 months each? THAT'S IT
I'm not a parent myself yet but get genuinely upset reading stuff like this and the pitiful punishments dished out :( |
made me feel sick..

|
12 months they will be out in 6 wont they :cuckoo:
the world is truely an aweful place these days |
unimaginable - and I do cry!!
|
that's horrific :(
cannot believe they were sentanced so lightly........ |
i want to go round and smash their faces in......thats hurrendous, poor child
|
i feel so sorry for children that are put through things like this, what is in these peoples heads though to allow it to happen, i can't stand being away from my kids and try to make sure they get quality time with me each day. such a sad story.
|
Perfect example if how any piece of crap person can create a child but it takes a much better person to bring one up properly.
A 12 month sentance for those two is a crime in iteslf! |
That is heart wrenching, the terrible thing though is there are probably many more kids like that that aren't even on the radar of social services.

Any situation where children are abused/neglected/killed etc. is absolutley shocking, but wouldn't you think once there is some sort of concern raised, such children and their families would be more closely monitored. :( |
You're not wrong and it woudn't be the only case highlighted recently :(
|
Terrible. I was stunned by the light sentence.
Isn't there an appeals process nowadays where CPS or someone can ask for the sentence to be reviewed? dl |
I swear the next time I hear the phrase "lessons must be learn't" I'll rip whats left of my hair out
|
I find it hard to believe that parents can do such an awful thing to their child. How can they possibly force her to live in such filth and squalor while they take such good care of their pet lizards etc?
What on earth is the court thinking of to give them such a light sentence for what is effectively manslaughter and at best shameful and lawless irresponsible behaviour towards their own child? Do people just not matter any more, is it just their bad luck to be in such a terrible position, and is it more important that the parents don't block the prison for too long rather than getting the sort of punishment that other similar feckless parents might just fear for theselves? The Judiciary should be ashamed of itself! Les :( |
Words fail me to describe what I think of this. :(
|
I'm at a loss for words. How can it be deemed acceptable in our society for behaviour like this to be punished with 12 months? How can our politicians and judiciary come up with a system like this, and deem it to be right and proper?
Where is the deterrent, where is the punishment? God bless that poor little girl, I hope wherever she is now she is at peace. |
How little life must be worth, for a ludicrous sentence of 12 months. :(
Poor, poor child. Tragic story :( :( |

Poor, poor child. Tragic story :( :( The Justice system is completely fecked |
Reading this story made me so angry........
12 MONTHS ? 12 MONTHS ? Should have been 12 years and then some...... How anyone could watch on whilst that happens to another human being or animal let alone child is beyond me....... What the hell were the schools, social services doing when this kid was turning up with excrement on her hand and lice in her hair? FFS Those animals in future should be on a register, so that any child staying with them is automatically at risk. I hope they get a really hard time when they get out and I don't want to hear about paying for their protection....they lost any rights for that when they let that poor girl rot. |

I'm not a parent myself yet but get genuinely upset reading stuff like this and the pitiful punishments dished out :( Proper parents nature, nurture love and encourage their kids. To jail these two for just 12 months seems way to short. she should be sterilised and him castraited so they cannot reporduce. If they had done this to an animal they could have got a stiffer sentence and be banned from owning an animal again. As it is they can reproduce at will - this seems wrong given ther crimes. Kids deserve better than this and this is becoming too common an occurance, or so it seems. RIP that poor girl |
As I mentioned when the death actually occurred, we were tasked with performing drive-bys at the house after it had happened to make sure the locals didn't go round and torch/damage it or assault the couple in question.
It's another case of Social Services being aware and not doing anything. Baby P anyone? The conditions in this Mansfield house were very similar to those that were at the house in Mansfield where a murder took place a couple of weeks back, where I had the misfortune of visiting the same address last year and found the place full of drugs paraphernalia, dog **** all over, exposed floor boards and missing floor boards, pots which were unwashed and a 15 year old girl, who wanted to live there with her 1 year old son and the baby she was about to drop. Believe me, conditions like this are not rare. I lost count of the type of properties where faeces is all over the place, rubbish is strewn all over and people are happy to let their children live in those conditions. |

So this girl you mention was pregant at 13?*! child abuse surely why oh why do SS not get involved...WTF are the parents doing allowing this to happen, i think you answered the question in your post, parents by name only - it is just so wrong! |
Jailed for 12 months so they'll be out in 6 - what the f*ck is that all about  You have to wonder about some of the "punishments" that get handed out by the courts ... that one will certainly teach them.
Luckily we don't hear about this sort of thing too much however it's harrowing to think that they were able to treat their own child in such a manner without anyone stepping in. TX. |

They always seem to have money for fags and booze, Sky is connected + 3 or 4 tv's and they have several games consuls. The mother hasn't ever worked a day in her life. We take the girls from time to time and they eat us out of house and home, thier diet and what they will eat is limited to everything with chips, often a meal at home is sweetcorn and chips. We try to get them to eat healthiy and at least try stuff like salad, fruit, etc. but with little luck. Five a day, lucky if they get thier five a week... TBH the girls will likely end up pregnant at 15 just like thier mother. Oh and to cap it all, i dropped the mother off at home a while back, plastic bag on the front step. I picked it up and inside where a set of dealers scales. She made light of it but it turns out the 14 y/o son is dealing dope FFS! We are in two minds wether to speak to social services but TBH they are aware. We go round to keep an eye on things once a week and do what we can with clothes and even food parcels |
