fuel starvation

Hi all im new to the world of scoobies..... I have bought a 2005 WRX, it has an uprated turbo, front mount intercooler (if thatmakes any difference) but when i have under 3/4 of a tank of juice and corner hard i get fuel starvation, any ideas?

She has been plugged in and comes up with fuel pump relay along with emission sensor as its de catted. Cheers

anyone??

Get it checked on a Dyno. Best thing to do. It might be running lean or a dodgy fuel pump. Has the fuel pump been upgraded?

Tidgy 09 April 2010 07:02 PM

have the mods been fitted? has the car been mapped for the mods? what turbo is it you;ve have fitted?

15 window delux 09 April 2010 07:23 PM

no idea on the turbo, how do i tell? also dont think the fuel pump is uprated....

if it was a fuel pump then wouldnt it struggle normally?

dont think she has been mapped

the last bit is your answer, i wouldn;t drive it till its mapped, i bet the AFR is totaly screwed.

new turbo = needs mapping, no ifs no buts

a dyno wont cure it you need a mapper like jgm and others who advertise on hear they come to you and it costs:(

afr= air fuel ratio

With the mods you have is a fair bet the car isnt running correctly lean afr could and more than likely will result in major engine damage. It could ofcourse have gone the other way and be to rich which also isnt so good.

The front mount you mention makes a big difference yes

15 window delux 29 April 2010 11:57 PM

right remap has been done but i still have the same issue, anyone throw some light on the situation??

dynamix 30 April 2010 06:55 AM

what did the place that did the remap say about fueling ? - presume they checked this issue out?

15 window delux 01 May 2010 09:26 AM

they said that the ecu was all over the place and fueling was way too high so adjusted it but it still has the same issue, could it be as silly as a fuel filter??

dunx 01 May 2010 11:36 AM

Dodgy fuel pump install ?

It may have to come out.
